What Agritourism Means to Us

Picture
According to the States' Agritourism Statutes in the state of Kentucky, agritourism in 247.800 and 247.810 is defined as "the act of visiting: (a) A farm or ranch; or (b) Any agricultural, horticultural, or agribusiness operation; for the purpose of enjoyment, education, or active involvement in the activities of the farm, ranch, or operation."  These activities aren't limited to just harvesting or farm work.  After re-building our farm after the tornado and receiving so many requests from friends and neighbors to host events, we realized  that we wanted to share our farm with others. We decided to open our farm to the public for patrons to enjoy the scenic atmosphere of a working cow/calf operation. Thus began Honey Locust Farms, LLC's relationship with the community.

Thank you to everyone that attended the 4-H Farm to Table Dinner and the Simon Kenton FFA Harvest Dinner last year.  Both dinners with the silent and live auctions were a huge success!

Plan to join us this year for the 4-H Farm to Table Dinner on Sept. 9, 2023.  This Farm to Table Dinner brings local food from area farmers for a great meal.  Get your friends together with a table of eight to for the meal as well as a silent and live auction that will be quite entertaining.  To register go to kentoncountyextension.org.  See the flyer below.

The Simon Kenton FFA Harvest Dinner is on Sept. 30, 2023 which will include a silent and live auction.  For more information call 859.960.0100.  See the flyer below.
